Engineered hardwood flooring in a bright Thousand Oaks room

The hardwood we carry.

A showroom range you can see in person, and order from in any of the forms below.

Solid and engineered oak in strip, plank, and wide-plank widths, along with walnut, hickory, and maple, and a working range of stains from pale naturals through to dark browns. Engineered wood is stocked for slabs, upper floors, and radiant heat, and solid wood for nail-down installation over a wood subfloor.

Any of it can be seen before you order it. Small samples ship to your door free, and large sample boards come out to the house with the consultation.

Hardwood flooring installation in Thousand Oaks, and the wood for it.

We are a flooring supplier that installs, so the material and the fitting are booked together.

Nail-down over a wood subfloor, or bonded or floated over a slab. Delivery, removal and haul-away of the old floor, underlayment, transitions, thresholds, and trim are all part of what we quote, and the wood is delivered ahead of installation so it can settle in the house before it goes down.

Refinishing, repair, and recoating.

A floor already down is often worth keeping, and we do all three kinds of work on one.

Sanding to bare wood and building a new finish on top clears scratches, worn traffic paths, tack strip holes from an old carpet, and the dark border a rug or an old finish line left behind. Screening and recoating is the lighter service, refreshing the finish without going to bare wood. Individual boards can be replaced and stain matched, and squeaks and loose boards refastened.

Whether a floor can be sanded comes down to how much wood sits above the tongue, and we read that at a floor vent or a threshold at the consultation.

Hardwood stairs, nosings, treads, and risers.

We install hardwood nosings, treads, and risers, cut to match the floor.

Treads and risers are made in the same species, stain, and sheen as the floor so the stairs read as one surface with it, or deliberately contrasted where the stair should stand on its own. Carpeted stairs can be converted to wood, and stairs are measured on the same visit as the floors. More on our stair work.

Questions from Thousand Oaks homeowners

What we get asked most before a job here.

Do you supply the flooring or only install it?

Both. We supply it, deliver it, and install it, and the written estimate covers the wood and the work as separate lines.

Do samples cost anything?

Small samples ship to your door at no cost. Large boards come out with the in-home visit and stay with you while you decide.

There is carpet over my floors. Is there wood underneath?

Sometimes, and it is worth a look before ordering anything new. Lift a corner in a closet or at a floor vent, or we can check it at the consultation.

Can hardwood go over a concrete slab?

Engineered hardwood can, either glued down or floated. Solid hardwood cannot, because nothing should be fastened into the slab.

Do you install hardwood stairs as well as floors?

Yes. We install hardwood nosings, treads, and risers, matched to the floor in species, stain, and sheen, and they are measured on the same visit.
