Every floor we carry is built to look like wood and stand up to real life — they just get there differently. Here's what sets each one apart.

Hardwood — solid & engineered

Real wood, and the only floor that can be sanded and refinished. Solid hardwood is milled from a single piece of timber and refinishes many times over its life; engineered hardwood puts a real-wood wear layer over a stable core, so it handles concrete slab, humidity, and radiant heat. Laminate

A high-resolution wood image under a tough, clear wear layer over a dense core. Laminate is highly scratch- and fade-resistant, easy to live with, and a smart pick for busy rooms and rentals. It can't be refinished, so it's replaced when worn.

Luxury vinyl (SPC)

A rigid stone-polymer core topped with a printed design and a wear layer. Luxury vinyl is 100% waterproof and dent-tough, which makes it the safe answer for kitchens, baths, laundry rooms, and homes with pets and kids.

Surface texture

Across hardwood and the wood-look floors, texture sets the mood and hides wear: smooth reads clean and modern, wire-brushed lightly raises the grain to disguise everyday scuffs, and hand-scraped brings old-world character. Wider planks and matte, wire-brushed finishes wear especially well in busy households.

Before You Install

What to know before your installation.

Whatever floor you choose, a flat, dry, well-prepped subfloor is what keeps it quiet, level, and gap-free. Here's what a proper job involves, and what we handle for you.

• Acclimation Wood and wood-look planks rest in your home first so they match your indoor humidity before they're laid.
• Subfloor & moisture We inspect and moisture-test plywood or slab — non-negotiable on concrete.
• Layout & direction We plan plank direction, starting line, and sightlines before the first board.
• Door casing & transitions Casings are undercut and transitions planned so the floor runs clean room to room.
• Expansion gaps A perimeter gap lets the floor move with the seasons without cupping or buckling.
• Method: nail, glue, float, or click Matched to the material and your subfloor — nail-down, glue-down, or floating click-lock.
• Cleanup & haul-away We remove the old floor, debris, and dust, and leave the space ready to live in.

Care

Flooring maintenance & care.

Every floor lasts longer with a little routine care. The basics are the same; the cleaners differ by type.

• Day to day — dust-mop or vacuum with a soft head to lift grit before it scratches any floor.
• Hardwood — use a pH-neutral hardwood cleaner only; skip steam mops, wax, and oil soaps, and wipe spills promptly.
• Laminate & luxury vinyl — damp-mop with a manufacturer-approved cleaner; both shrug off water, but avoid pooling on laminate seams.
• Protect — felt pads under furniture, rugs at entries, and indoor humidity around 35–55% to limit seasonal movement.
• Every few years — a professional deep clean and recoat refreshes a hardwood finish before the wood ever wears through.
