When boards are too damaged to sand out, black water stains, cupping, deep gouges, we cut them out cleanly and weave new boards in. Done right, the patch is hard to pick out.
Matching old hardwood is half art, half woodworking. We hold a stock of common species and stains, and can custom-mill or hand-stain to get as close to your existing floor as the wood allows.

Squeaks & Gaps

Squeaks usually come from boards rubbing against fasteners or each other. We diagnose from above and stop them with screws, glue, or shims as appropriate.
Gaps in winter are normal. Gaps that stay year-round are a humidity or installation issue. We fix them with color-matched fillers or, in severe cases, board replacement.
