Wide plank, long lengths, and enough of one dye lot to cover a whole house.
Oak in strip through wide plank, plus walnut, hickory, and maple, in solid form for nail-down installation over a wood subfloor and engineered form for slabs and radiant heat. Where a job runs to every room, the order is placed as a single dye lot so there is no seam in the house where two batches meet, and herringbone, chevron, and border work can be ordered in the same species as the field.

Samples of anything in the range ship free, and large boards come up to the house so a wide plank can be seen in the actual room.

One dye lot through the house, transitions planned as a set rather than solved one doorway at a time, and the stairs built in the same wood so the floor reads as one surface from the entry to the top level. Where a subfloor needs work to bring it flat, that is part of what we quote. We also fit the floor into the order of the wider job, since it has to land after the trades that would damage it and before the ones that need it finished.
Stairs
Hardwood stairs, nosings, treads, and risers.
A house that steps down a slope usually has more than one flight, and the stairs are the most looked-at wood in it.
We install hardwood nosings, treads, and risers, cut to match the floor in species, stain, and sheen so the two read as one surface, or contrasted where the stair should stand on its own. Carpeted stairs can be converted to wood, and stairs are measured on the same visit as the floors. More on our stair work.
Existing Floors
Refinishing, repair, and recoating.
Sun through west-facing glass shifts the color of a floor, and sanding brings it back.
Full sanding removes the color-shifted top layer along with the scratches, so outlines left by rugs and furniture come out with them and the floor returns to one even tone. Screening and recoating refreshes a worn finish without going to bare wood, and individual boards can be replaced and stain matched. How much sanding a floor has left is read at a vent or a threshold at the consultation.

Samples, brought up to the house.
Small samples ship free, and large boards come to you.
Large sample boards come out to the house or the job site, several at a time, and stay with you, which matters when a wide board is going into a long room and the grain becomes the dominant pattern rather than a texture. The full range is in the showroom.

What we get asked most before a job here.
Can the same wood run through the whole house and up the stairs?
Yes, and it is the main reason to do the house in one go. One dye lot runs throughout, and we install hardwood nosings, treads, and risers cut to match the floor in species, stain, and sheen.
Do you supply the flooring or only install it?
Both. We supply it, deliver it, and install it, and the written estimate covers the wood and the work as separate lines.
Can hardwood go over radiant heat?
Engineered hardwood can, within the temperature limits the manufacturer sets. Solid hardwood is not the right choice over radiant heat, because it moves too much with the temperature swing.
My floor has faded around the furniture. Can that be fixed?
Usually. Color shift from sunlight sits in the top layer, and sanding removes it along with the scratches, which brings the floor back to one tone.
Do you coordinate with our contractor?
Yes. The floor has to land after the trades that would damage it and before the ones that need it finished, and that order gets agreed at the consultation.
