Hardwood Stairs

Custom hardwood treads and risers that match your floor in species, stain, and finish — so the eye reads them as one continuous surface.

New treads,
matched perfectly.

We install solid hardwood treads in the same species as your floor — usually 1″ thick with a 1.25″ rounded bullnose. Risers are 5/8″ or 3/4″ depending on the look you want.

We can stain on-site to match an existing floor exactly, including weathered or aged tones. Side returns and skirt boards available.

  • Solid 1″ hardwood treads
  • Bullnose, square, or mitered returns
  • Stain matched to existing floor
  • Skirt boards and shoe molding

Carpet stairs,
rebuilt in wood.

We strip out the existing carpet, padding, and tack strip, then cap each step in solid hardwood treads and risers that match your floor.

The result: a quiet, tight stair that reads as part of the floor instead of an afterthought. Proper noise reduction with cork or rubber pads where the tread meets the riser.

  • Carpet, pad, and tack strip removal
  • Hardwood treads & risers
  • Sound-reduction underlayment
  • Stain and finish to match your floor

How a project actually goes.

01

Site visit & measure

We measure each tread individually — staircases are rarely uniform. Discuss species, stain, and bullnose style.

02

Order to spec

Treads are made to spec and pre-finished (or stained on-site). Lead time is typically 2–3 weeks.

03

Demo & install

Old treads come out and new hardwood treads and risers go in with construction adhesive and finish nails.

04

Finish & detail

Final stain, finish coats, and trim work — skirt boards and shoe molding for a clean, finished edge.
